Earlier Song dynasty
The earlier Song Dynasty , also known as the Liu Song Dynasty ( Chinese 劉宋 / 刘宋 , Pinyin liú sòng ), was an era of the Chinese Empire that lasted from 420 to 479 .
The Song Dynasty fell at the time of the division of China into a southern and a northern part after the end of the Jin Dynasty ; one also speaks of the period of the North and South Dynasties (420-581). The Song Dynasty formed the first of the southern dynasties, it was replaced by the Qi Dynasty (479–502).
In the north she was faced with the Northern Wei Dynasty, founded by the nomadic Tuoba . The northern border of the Qi dynasty ran around 100 km south of the Huang He .
