Nahed Ojjeh (born November 6, 1959 in Aleppo ) is a Syrian businesswoman, billionaire and patron .

Life

Nahed Ojjeh (nee Tlas) was born in Aleppo as the daughter of the former Syrian Defense Minister Mustafa Tlas . In 1978, at the age of 19, she married the then sixty-year-old Saudi arms dealer Akram Ojjeh . Since then she has lived in Paris in the exclusive residential area of ​​the XVI Arrondissement .

After her husband died in 1991, she inherited a handsome fortune. She studied philosophy and psychology at the University of Paris V. In 2002 she received a doctorate in political science .

She became a famous figure in Paris under the name of Madame O. From 2001 to 2006 she was the president of the NAO Chess Club , renamed after her , which thanks to her financial support has won several national and international titles.

Prix ​​Nahed Ojjeh

Ojjeh was elected a corresponding member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts in 1995 . In 2008 she donated the Prix ​​Nahed Ojjeh, awarded twice a year by the Académie des Beaux-Arts, in the amount of € 15,245 for engravers .
