Paris Chess Club

Paris Chess Club has been the name of a traditional and successful Parisian chess club since 2006 .

Paris Caïssa

Until 2001 the association was called Paris Caïssa , named after the chess goddess Caissa . From 1970 until her death in 2001, Chantal Chaudé de Silans headed the association. The most famous member was the former world chess champion Boris Spasski . Paris Caïssa won the French team championship in 1986 and the French team cup La Coupe de France 18 times between 1947 and 1967 .

NAO Chess Club

In 2001 the association started a cooperation with the Syrian patron Nahed Ojjeh . He renamed herself NAO Chess Club after her initials and elected her president. In return, she provided the association with an annual budget of € 500,000. NAO Chess Club strengthened itself with world class players and the best players from France. From 2003 to 2006 the NAO Chess Club dominated French chess. During this period, he won all French team championships for adults and youth, won the French Cup every year from 2002 to 2005 and won the European Club Cup in 2003 and 2004 .

Paris Chess Club

In spring 2006 Nahed Ojjeh left the cooperation with the association. He then got into financial difficulties. The top players left the club and he was relegated from the first division.
