Pena Molexa

The Pena Molexa is a rock outcrop in Narón , west of Cima da Vila in the province of A Coruña in northwest Galicia in Spain .

Pena Molexa

A boulder that weighs several tons and is placed on huge rocks juts upwards at an angle, so that it seems to have been placed between the granite blocks by human hands.

Tradition (Gal. Lenda ) suggests that the rock Pena Molexa was a Celtic altar , place of worship or a sanctuary of the mother goddess, which for some reason was not Christianized . The stone cult is a religious custom that was widespread in Europe from the Bronze Age .

Nearby is the Castro Vilasuso.
