The Penang State Stadium is a multifunctional stadium in Batu Kawan, South Seberang Perai District, Penang , Malaysia . It is currently mostly used for soccer games. The stadium has a capacity of 40,000 seats. It was built and opened in 2000. The 8th Sukma Games (Malaysian Games) in 2000 were also held here. In 2007 the stadium was home to the final of the Malaysia FA Cup . The game was won by Kedah FA 4-2 on penalties against Perlis FA .
