description
The Penei has a straight, single-edged blade. The blade runs straight from the handle to the place . The place is rounded. The blade has no central ridge and no hollow grind. The handle is carved from horn and has a round brass guard . The pommel is decorated with traditional, line-shaped carvings. In some versions, the booklet is covered with metal foil, which only successful headhunters could do. The sheaths are made of wood, are in two parts and wrapped with rattan strips for fastening. There are two holes on the back to hold a belt. The mouth of the scabbard is made so that the end of the staple fits in exactly. A similar sword from this region is the Timor sword .
