Penguin Software , Polarware from 1986 , was a manufacturer of graphics software and computer games in Geneva ( USA ). The company was founded by Mark Pelczarski in 1980 and existed until 1987. In 1985 there were legal disputes with Penguin Books , so the company was renamed Polarware.

The company became known with some graphics programs, namely Magic Paintbrush , Special Effects and especially The Graphics Magician , which was very popular and commercially successful at the time.

The company also developed some computer games, such as: B. the three-part adventure series Transylvania , the first part of which was released for iOS in 2009 .
