Penkow (noble family)

Penkow or Penkow-Jaroslawski ( Russian Пеньковы-Ярославские ) was a Russian aristocratic family of Rurikid origin. It was formed as a branch of the princes of Yaroslavl and went back to Danilo Alexandrowitsch Penko , a voivode of the Moscow Grand Duke Ivan III. The noble family Penkow had a great influence especially in the first half of the 16th century .
