Pentax K 1000

The Pentax K1000 is a 35 mm SLR camera with TTL exposure metering . It came on the market in 1975 and was manufactured until 1997. The K1000 is one of the fully mechanical cameras that only need battery power as a power supply for the built-in light meter. The camera uses the Pentax K bayonet. The K1000 is the simplest version of the K series. It has no winder connection , no self-timer, no dimming button and is still one of the best-selling SLR cameras of all.

The lens connection is the K bayonet . The closure is a cloth closure that runs horizontally. The shutter speeds can be set from 1 s to 1/1000 s and B.

The dimensions of the housing are 143 mm × 91.5 mm × 49 mm and its weight 620 g to 525 g (without lens).

A 1.5 V silver oxide battery of the type A76, SR44 or the like is used as the light meter battery .

Versions of the Pentax K 1000

The Pentax K 1000 is divided into three versions:

  • 1st version (MADE IN JAPAN, 1975–1978)
  • 2nd version (Made in Hong Kong, 1978–1990)
  • 3rd version (Made in China, 1990–1997)
