Pepper's ghost is an illusion trick with mirrors named after John Henry Pepper and developed in the 19th century. Using flat glass and special lighting in front of and behind the pane, the impression is created that partially transparent objects would appear and disappear. The trick is used especially in the theater and at scary attractions.

Known Uses

There are known uses of the effect u. a. in theme parks such as the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and The Haunted Mansion .

Pepper's Ghost cameras installed on the Boulevard der Stars in Berlin enable visitors to appear to be photographed with their star.
