Pepper the Cat
Pepper the Cat (* 1912; † after 1928) was one of the first movie cats in Hollywood . She went on several short films the studios Keystone of Mack Sennett on.
Life
Mack Sennett discovered the black cat on the set of a movie while walking the sets. Instead of interrupting the recording, he recorded the cat walking through the scenes. He took the cat into his care, gave her the name Pepper and let her appear in several films in his studio, such as the Keystone Cops . In A Little Hero (1913), she performed for the first time in a leading role. She played together with the dog Teddy the Dog, with whom she had numerous other appearances. Mabel Normand appeared as the mistress . Pepper subsequently starred in films with Ben Turpin , Fatty Arbuckle and Charlie Chaplin . Another animal, turned to the Pepper was Teddy the Great Dane, a German mastiff . After she died in the mid-1920s, Pepper stopped making other films.
