Pera librorum juvenilium

Pera librorum juvenilium (German: satchel with books for young people ) is the title of a special encyclopedia by the universal scholar Johann Christoph Wagenseil . The extensive reference work is specially designed for schoolchildren and was published in Nuremberg in 1695 in Latin in five volumes with a total of about 6000 pages. Until the 19th century, the Pera librorum juvenilium was the only attempt at an encyclopedia for schoolchildren.
