Pere Pastor Vilanova

Pere Pastor Vilanova (born November 29, 1968 in Andorra la Vella ) is an Andorran lawyer and judge at the European Court of Human Rights .

Live and act

Pastor Vilanova first studied political science at the University of Toulouse from 1987 . He finished his studies in 1990 with the acquisition of a master’s degree . After studying finance and economics at the Montpellier Business School , he also obtained a master’s degree in this subject in 1992. This was followed by further studies in administrative sciences at the École nationale d'administration in Paris, which he again completed in 1994 with a master's degree. From 1995 to 1998 he worked in the Ministry of the Interior of Andorra before starting to study public law at the University of Toulouse in 1999. He completed this in 2002 with the acquisition of the title Ph.D. from. He had been a judge in Andorra since 1998.

Since 2005 Pastor Vilanova has also been a lecturer at the Universities of Toulouse and Andorra . From 2011 to 2015 he was a judge at the Andorran Constitutional Court. In April 2015 Pastor Vilanova was elected Judge at the European Court of Human Rights to succeed Josep Casadevall as representative of Andorra . He began his term of office, which is expected to last until 2024, on November 1, 2015.
