from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Peroz II was Sassanid king around 631/32 for a short time and probably only regionally ruling .

After the death of King Chosrau II in 628, anarchic conditions prevailed in the empire: his successors, including two queens, were only able to stay on the throne for a few months and sometimes ruled simultaneously in different parts of the empire; In addition, the sources for this period are very uncertain.

Peroz is mentioned by Tabari . Accordingly, he came from the ruling house on his mother's side and was named after the death of Chosrau III. who was also only able to last for a short time, was raised to the rank of king by court circles and allegedly against his will, but was soon murdered by people around him. During his short reign, Peroz also had coins minted.
