Personal Certificate
A personal certificate was a personal document of the GDR , which entitled to temporary or permanent emigration to the Federal Republic of Germany .
The personal certificate was issued on the basis of an order dated November 23, 1953 by the Ministry of the Interior of the GDR . The personal certificate replaced the interzone pass from November 25, 1953 and was sufficient to pass the checkpoints from then on. Had to be at before you travel to West German police the identity card in exchange for the personal certificate be issued.
