Personal position finding

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Personale position location (PP) is a phenomenological method of existential analysis to treat Passivierungsgefühlen such as in anxiety, depression or generalized assumptions. It was developed by Alfried Längle between 1984 and 1987 . The activation of the person and the consolidation of their will is done by obtaining opinions, which makes the method one of the primary supportive procedures. As a forerunner of the Personal Existential Analysis, it shares a formal analogy with it, but represents an embodiment of its second step (authentic restructuring) in terms of content.

The steps in detail (e.g. if you feel anxious: you couldn't be taken seriously; or if you feel depressed: "Because everyone else is better, I'll stay at home"):

PP1 Outward position : determine ”what is actually the case (“ Is it true? ”-“ How can I see that? - “What can really happen?”). The reality check leads to demarcation, situational unbundling and protection.
PP2 Position inward : “adjust to your own strengths / abilities and distance yourself from your own demands (“ Could I only endure the negative once? ”). Leads to inner release.
PP3 Position on the positive : add yourself to the value that is important to you in the situation (authentic motivation, self-transcendence) with questions such as: "What is it about me? - What is important to me? - What I want? Leads to the strengthening of personal intentionality. PP3 largely coincides with Viktor Frankl's method of dereflection.
