Personal identification procedure
The personal identification procedure (PFV) in Germany is the identification service used by the police to determine the true identity of a specific person.
This is required for
- unconscious, seriously injured or mentally handicapped persons without ID and accompanying persons who can credibly confirm their identity
- unknown dead
- People who do not have identity cards have
- ID refusers
- Persons who are suspected of false personal details given or false ID to have submitted
Here u. a. made use of identification material and the data stored at registry offices and other authorities. Other possibilities are surveys, searches , comparisons , expert opinions and rarely switching on the mass media .
The legal bases are based either on police law , the law on administrative fines or criminal procedure law , as well as the Residence Act .
The ED guidelines (section 10) issued by the Federal Criminal Police Office are also relevant for the police.
The legitimate personal data determined are entered into the INPOL system as so-called management personal data .
