The pesada was a unit of mass in different regions of South America . The measure was used for hides and skins .

Buenos Aires
  • 1 Pesada = 35 pounds (Spanish inches) (dry hides and skins)
  • 1 Pesada = 60 pounds (Spanish inches) (wet hides)
Uruguay
  • 1 pesada = 40 pounds (Spanish inches) (dry hides and skins) = 18.376 kilograms
  • 1 pesada = 75 pounds (Spanish inches) (wet hides) = 34.455 kilograms
