Our Lady on the sands of Breslau

Master Peschel ( Peter , Lat. Magister Pesco , Polish. Mistrz Pieszko ; * before 1330; † after 1380) was a medieval church architect of the Gothic in Silesia , mainly in Wroclaw .

From 1354 to 1368 Peschel added the small choir (Polish Kaplica Mariacka) to the east wall of the Breslau cathedral church , which was donated by Bishop Preczlaw von Pogarell and whose tomb later found its place here. After 1365, the largest church in the city followed in Wroclaw, the hall church of Our Lady on the Sand (St. Maria in Arena) and the two-tower basilica of the parish church of St. Maria Magdalena . He was mentioned in the sources under both the German and the Latinized Polish name form, and it is not possible to clearly define his nationality.
