Peteco Carabajal (born May 25, 1956 in La Banda , Santiago del Estero , Argentina ) is an Argentine composer, songwriter and all-round musician (guitarist, violinist and singer).

With his spiritual music based on percussion-heavy instruments, he founded a new musical genre in Argentina, the so-called Chacarera Projeción . He gave the folkloric influenced music of Argentina the opportunity to reinvent itself - after legendary greats with international success such as Atahualpa Yupanqui or Mercedes Sosa - and to generate a sophisticated traditional and modern folklore style that particularly caters to the needs of the younger generation.
