La Banda is the capital of the Banda department of the same name in the province of Santiago del Estero in northwestern Argentina . The city is eight kilometers from the provincial capital Santiago del Estero , only separated by the course of the Río Dulce . Two bridges connect the two cities, which together form an agglomerate. With its 106,000 inhabitants, La Banda is the second largest city in the province.
