Sticks of hops

The rods (including support ) a technique in horticulture . The technique of rods is taught in gardening training .

method

Sticking gives the crop a straight growth, which is important for the development of the plant. For sticks, a suitable stick in the size of the later crop is required. First a 10 to 20 cm deep hole is made in the ground in front of the cultivated plant so that the rod can be pressed into the ground, giving it support and stability. After the rod has been set, the crop is pressed so that it just rests against the rod.

The crop is then tied to the rod piece by piece. Stapling pliers or special rubber bands are usually used for fastening.
