The Alberdi Department is located in the northeast of the Santiago del Estero Province in northwest Argentina and is one of the province's 27 administrative units .
It is bordered by the Copo department to the north, the Chaco province to the east, the Moreno and Figueroa departments to the south and the Jiménez and Pellegrini departments to the west .
The capital of the Alberdi department is Campo Gallo .
