Campo Gallo (formerly: Hipólito Yrigoyen ) is the capital of the Alberdi department in the province of Santiago del Estero in northwestern Argentina . It is located in the northeast of the province in the middle of the Chaco Austral , 242 kilometers from the provincial capital Santiago del Estero and connected to it via the Ruta Provincial 5 . Campo Gallo is the intersection of the aforementioned road with Rutas Provinciales 17 and 177 . In the classification of the municipalities of the province, it is classified as 3rd category municipality.
