The Department General Taboada is located in the east of the province of Santiago del Estero in northwest Argentina and is one of the province's 27 administrative units .
It is bordered by the Juan F. Ibarra Department to the north, the Santa Fe Province to the east, the Belgrano Department to the south and the Avellaneda Department to the west .
