Peter Desaga

Peter Desaga (born March 14, 1812 ; † after 1879) was a German instrument maker at the University of Heidelberg .

His father was the teacher Michael Desaga. He trained as a mechanic, optician and calibration engineer in Heidelberg, Paris and London. In 1838 he founded the optical and chemical apparatus business in Heidelberg's Hauptstrasse . Chemical-physical apparatus engineering C. Desaga was founded in 1840 . In 1842 his son Carl was born. In 1852 he became the first captain of the Heidelberg fire brigade and in 1855 a member of the municipal council. Desaga worked closely with Robert Bunsen and around 1854 improved a burner model from Michael Faraday , which he marketed as a Bunsen burner .
