Peter Gerckens

Peter Gerckens (born November 12, 1944 in Husum ) is a German politician belonging to the Danish minority ( SSW ).

Gerckens attended the Emdrupborg State Seminar in Copenhagen and from 1974 worked as a teacher at Dansk Skoleforening for Sydslesvig, the Danish school association for southern Schleswig .

In 1986 Gerckens moved into the district council of the district of North Friesland , where he was chairman of the SSW parliamentary group. In 1988 the same thing happened in the city council of Husum, where he was also parliamentary group chairman. He was a member of the magistrate, the supervisory board of the waste management company Nordfriesland and the GEW . From 1996 to 2000 ( 14th electoral term ) Gerckens was a member of the Landtag of Schleswig-Holstein , due to an accident in the first half of 1996 he was barely able to exercise his mandate.
