Switzerland Global Enterprise , abbreviated: S-GE, (formerly the Swiss Center for Trade Promotion or O ffice S uisse d' E xpansion C ommerciale , abbreviated: OSEC ) is a Swiss organization that promotes the foreign trade of Switzerland and Liechtenstein . It is financed from membership fees and grants from the Confederation. The organization founded in 1927 under the name Swiss Center for Trade Promotion is based in Zurich .
purpose
On behalf of the federal government ( State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO ), within the framework of the mandate to promote exports, the organization supports Swiss companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises ( SMEs ), in identifying and developing new business potential worldwide. This through information on the relevant markets, through advisory services and the mediation of partners and other contacts abroad.
In addition, on behalf of the Confederation (State Secretariat for Economic Affairs | State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO) and the cantons, as part of the mandate for location promotion , it informs potential foreign investors about the special strengths and framework conditions of Switzerland as a business location, supports companies from abroad and examines their potential and projects before they are sent to the cantons. S-GE also supports the settlement of foreign companies by the cantons by means of a standardized Swiss presence and by coordinating the activities of all the offices involved in the Swiss location promotion.
In both areas of activity, S-GE helps customers to realize new potential for their international business in order to strengthen Switzerland as a business location.
The international presence of S-GE is ensured by 22 Swiss Business Hubs. These are located at a Swiss embassy or a Swiss consulate general.
