Peter Godwin

Peter Godwin is a British musician who was particularly successful in the 1980s.

He was also the singer of the new wave band Metro . One of his greatest hits, along with "Baby's in the Mountains", was probably "Images of Heaven" (Polydor), in which he sings about the influence of the media on people and their dreams. The single "Images of Heaven" and the album "Dance Emotions" were played very often in clubs in the 1980s and are still considered cult hits of that time. Music videos for single releases were new at this time; for "Images of Heaven" two videos were even produced: a version for during the day and a second version, which was only allowed to be shown late in the evening, as it showed images of scantily clad models.

Peter Godwin was produced by Georg Kajanus, the head of the Sailor group , who at the same time pursued a concept of electronics and danceable pop with his project "Data".
