Peter Hinterdorfer

Peter Hinterdorfer (born January 13, 1963 in Bad Aussee , Austria ) is an Austrian physicist and university professor at the Institute for Biophysics at the Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz .

Life

Hinterdorfer studied technical physics at the Johannes Kepler University Linz , where he received his doctorate in 1992 . During his doctoral studies (1988–1992) he worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Biophysics . Hinterdorfer then worked for a year as a research assistant at the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biological Physics at the University of Virginia , USA. After returning home in 1993, he took up the position of university assistant at the Institute for Biophysics at the JKU Linz, where he completed his habilitation in 2001 . On January 1, 2010, Hinterdorfer was appointed university professor at the Institute for Biophysics.
