Peter Kindler
Peter Kindler (born January 9, 1960 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) is a German lawyer and professor at the University of Munich .
Life
In 1980, Kindler began studying law at the University of Munich , graduating in 1985 with the first state examination in law. In 1987 he was with a thesis on "indemnity of commercial representative in the German-Italian goods" to Dr. jur. PhD. After the second state examination in 1988, Kindler first worked as a lawyer in Munich. In 1991 he became a research assistant at the University of Konstanz . There he completed his habilitation in 1995 with an investigation into statutory interest claims in civil and commercial law.
After substituting professorships at the University of Konstanz and the University of Bochum , Kindler accepted a professorship at Heidelberg University on October 1, 1996 . In November 1996 he moved to the University of Bochum. From April 2007 to September 2011 Kindler taught at the University of Augsburg . Since October 1, 2011, Kindler has held the chair for civil law, commercial and corporate law, international private law and comparative law at the University of Munich .
Kindler is u. a. General Secretary of the “Association for the Exchange of Ideas between German and Italian Jurists” and member of the “Istituto Lombardo-Academia di Scienze e Lettere”. His main areas of work are
- German and international company law
- German and international contract law (in particular sales law, distribution law)
- German and international insolvency law
- Italian civil and commercial law
He is one of the German co-editors of The European Legal Forum magazine .
