Petra Mattfeldt (born November 30, 1971 ; pseudonyms: Caren Benedikt, Ellin Carsta) is a German author.

Life

Petra Mattfeldt grew up in a small town in northern Germany. She completed training as a legal and notary assistant and then worked as a freelance journalist. In 2010 she published her first historical novel, Die Feinde der Tuchhandlerin, under the pseudonym Caren Benedikt . Other historical novels such as The Seamstress followed. At the beginning of 2014, her detective crime debut, Second Death, about the Lüneburg inspector Falko Cornelsen, was published under her name Petra Mattfeldt. She also publishes historical novels under the name Ellin Carsta . From 2017 to 2019 Mattfeldt worked in the management of Bookspot Verlag . In May 2019 Mattfeldt founded Maximum Verlags GmbH , of which she is the sole managing director.

Mattfeldt lives with her husband and three children near Bremen.
