Burkhard Peter Bierschenck

Burkhard Peter Bierschenck (born March 30, 1950 in Bocholt ) is a German publisher, journalist and author.

Life

Bierschenck studied history and literary history at the LMU Munich and is a graduate of the German School of Journalism . Since then he has been editor-in-chief, publishing director and managing director at various German and international publishers. He is self-employed and took over the Neuer Merkur publishing house in Munich as a publisher, which has been publishing specialist journals and specialist books since 1952. Later he opened the Spanish subsidiary EEE in Barcelona. In 2002 the Bookspot publishing house followed, which mainly publishes books from different genres. He is the managing director of the non-fiction publisher BC-Publications and Magical Media GmbH, which deals with media consulting and artist support.

From July 2017 to May 2018 he was secretary of the PEN Center for German-Language Authors Abroad, is a member of the Syndicate crime authors' association , a member of the PEN in exile for German-speaking countries, of "HOMER - Historical Literature" and of the French "Union des poètes & Cie". Since March 2019 he is chairman of "Homer eV - Historische Literatur", the association of historical writers.

He lives in Munich and in Brittany.
