Pettendorf is a cadastral municipality of the market town of Gaflenz in the Steyr-Land district in Upper Austria.

The cadastral municipality forms the southern municipal area of ​​Gaflenz. It consists of the districts of Pettendorf and Breitenau and has an area of ​​almost 1260  hectares .

According to the census of May 1, 2001, there were 288 people in Pettendorf and 62 in Breitenau.

The landmark of the community is the pilgrimage church of St. Sebald am Heiligenstein in the district of Breitenau . It is located at the summit of the steeply sloping Heiligenstein ( 782  m above sea level ) and is a listed building ( list entry ). As the only Roman Catholic church in Austria, it is consecrated to St. Sebaldus of Nuremberg .
