Peugeot TKR

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Peugeot TKR is a scooter from the manufacturer Peugeot Motocycles .

Model history

The Peugeot TKR came onto the German market for the first time in 1998 as the successor to the Peugeot Squab under the name Trekker . Its main competitor was the Piaggio TPH. Another competitor was the Pegasus Sky 50. In 2001 the Trekker was renamed TKR, the name probably reminded the marketing department too much of a rickety old tractor. Up to 2001 there were both air-cooled 50 cm³ and 100 cm³ engines. Today only the 50 cm³ variant is available in Germany.

Model description

The TKR is designed as a simple and reliable all-round scooter. Thanks to its small 10-inch wheels, it is extremely handy and easy to maneuver, especially in city traffic. The name Trekker still had its justification, because to this day the basic model is delivered with studded tires and unpainted plastic parts, so nothing stands in the way of an excursion into easy terrain. The TKR has an air-cooled 50 cm³ engine with an upright cylinder and a carburetor for mixture preparation. The 4.2 PS power (or 4.1 PS for the special models) is sufficient for good acceleration (the acceleration from 0–50 km / h is approx. 7 seconds in the original condition) and a top speed of 75 km / h. The scooter has both an electric starter and a kick starter. In freezing temperatures, the scooter usually starts without any problems. Consumption in the unthrottled state is 3–3.5 liters. A full-face helmet fits into the helmet compartment.
