Pew Research Center
The Pew research center, English Pew Research Center , until 1995 Times Mirror Center for the People & the Press , is a non-governmental opinion research institute based in Washington . Michael Dimock has been the managing director since 2014 . The institute has over 160 employees (as of 2019) and is part of The Pew Charitable Trusts .
It is named after the US oil industrialist Joseph Newton Pew (1848–1912).

The center was initially funded by the Times Mirror Company ( The Los Angeles Times et al.); since 1996 it has been funded by the non-profit The Pew Charitable Trusts . The Pew Research Center has been part of The Pew Charitable Trusts since 2004. It collects information, opinions and trends, mainly about the United States , but also about other regions or worldwide.
