The former rectory of Köppern is under monument protection standing half-timbered buildings dating from the 1830th

history

Since 1684 Köppern was an independent parish. The first pastor, Christoph Rosenstengel, moved into the rectory, which was completed in 1677. As this became dilapidated, another building was purchased as a rectory in 1744. This, too, had gotten into poor condition over time. The parish therefore commissioned the construction engineer Westerfeld with the planning and construction of the current building. The cost of 2881 guilders and 50 crowns was raised through the sale of the wood from a special felling at the old cattle pasture. Pastor Georg Eberhard Braun (he was pastor in Köppern from 1824 to 1871) rents a room in the schoolhouse for 20 guilders during the construction work. In 1830 he was able to move into the rectory. The house was used as a rectory until 1969 and then sold. Today the house is inhabited by the master painter Hans-Jürgen Kratz.

The House

The building is a two-storey house made of exposed framework over a base made of quarry stone. The representative building was originally plastered. The entrance is in the middle of the five-axis front and can be reached via steps. The house is located at Köpperner Straße 101, the main axis of the village at that time.

A barn from the second half of the 18th century belongs to the property.
