The parish church Amstetten-St. Marien is located at Südtiroler Straße 1 in Allersdorf on the southern bank of the Ybbs in the municipality of Amstetten in the district of Amstetten in Lower Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church consecrated to St. Mary, mother of the church , belongs to the Amstetten deanery in the diocese of St. Pölten .

history

The church was built from 1974 to 1976 according to the plans of the architect Johann Kräftner senior.

architecture

In an open space there is a spacious three-winged courtyard-forming church complex under flat roofs, consisting of the parish church and the parish center.

The parish church is integrated into the overall structure and has stepped rectangular structural elements with attached pent roofs and slot-like corner windows.

The interior of the church forms an almost square pillar-less hall space under a three-part flat ceiling, the middle section runs as a counter-rotating shed roof , the walls have slightly rhythmic wall trusses, a glass wall shows a transverse chapel.

Furnishing

The crucifix, mantle Madonna, tabernacle and ambo were created by the artist Robert Herfert .

The organ was built by Gerhard Hradetzky (1976).
