The Roman Catholic parish church of Etsdorf am Kamp is on the thoroughfare of the village of Etsdorf am Kamp in the market town of Grafenegg in the Krems-Land district in Lower Austria . The church consecrated to St. James the Elder belongs to the Hadersdorf deanery in the vicariate Unter dem Manhartsberg of the Archdiocese of Vienna . The church is a listed building .

history

A vicariate was accepted for the first half of the 12th century. In 1231 a fiefdom parish of the Diocese of Passau was mentioned in a document. The parish became sovereign in 1803.

architecture

The baroque hall building with a medieval core has a Gothic baroque choir and a baroque west tower.

The high altar around 1770 as a three-tier wall structure fitted into the apse shows the high altar sheet St. James, painted by Josef Kessler (1876).

The organ was built by Gerhard Hradetzky (1976).
