history

The Romanesque choir tower church from the 12th and 13th centuries was later expanded into a three-aisled staggered church with three choir closures. A parish was mentioned in a document in 1295. In the fourth quarter of the 14th century a Gothic choir was added behind the choir tower square, and in 1382 the addition of a women's chapel was completed, which was extended to the west as a south aisle in 1402. At the end of the 15th century the central nave was vaulted. After a fire (1698), a north aisle was added in 1719, a sacristy was added and the facade was redesigned in Baroque style. In 1760 the tower was raised and in 1866 an onion helmet was added. In 1953 a west gallery was built in and the outside of the church was restored. In 1976 an interior restoration took place.

architecture

The structure of the nave with pilasters is Baroque, and the three portals with gable tops and the dates 1713, 1714 and 1719 and the arched windows are also Baroque. The tower, which is essentially Romanesque, was given a baroque style with plastered plasterwork, arched sound windows and an onion helmet. The Gothic choir with a five-eighth closure has stepped buttresses and pointed arch windows, the two-lane east-side tracery window is walled up. The Gothic south chapel with a triangular closure has windows with tracery remains. To the north of the choir square there is a side choir adapted to the south chapel; the side choir is partly covered by the two-storey sacristy built to the north of the choir.

The interior of the church shows itself as a three-aisled nave with a ribbed vault with disc keystones in the higher central nave. In the central nave is a west gallery from 1953. The side aisles are open to the central nave with pointed arch arcades. The southern four-bay aisle has cross-ribbed vaults with grooved ribs with a coat of arms keystone with the year 1402. The south choir as a women's chapel has a six-pointed cross-ribbed vault with a rosette keystone. The south choir received a stucco design in the Rococo style around 1760. The north three-and-a-half bay aisle is baroque with pilasters and has groin vaults. The north choir has a six-part ridge vault adapted to the south choir over kinked double pilasters. The tower ground floor or choir square has a ribbed vault with ogival openings to the nave and choir. The choir is the same width as the choir square and has a six-part ribbed vault on semicircular services. The sacristy has baroque groin vaults, the oratory on the upper floor has flat arched windows.

The wall painting in the choir from the end of the 18th century shows the Ascension of Christ on the left and the Last Supper on the right and medallions with half-figures of the evangelists in the arches. The stained glass shows Mary with child , St. Anna, with 1802, and Herz Jesu from the second half of the 19th century.

Furnishing

The choir wall bears a crucifix from the first half of the 18th century. There is a people's altar from 1976. The right side altar as a columnar altar with stucco marble from the mid-18th century bears a Madonna with a halo. The left side altar with twisted columns from the first half of the 18th century bears the central figure of Mary and Child with figures of angels and the side figures of Michael and John the Baptist.

Gregor Hradetzky built the organ (1957). Simon Selner names a bell in 1636.
