Parish Church of St. Martin (Dudelange)
The parish church of St. Martin in Dudelange in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is a Catholic church that was built in 1904.
history
On May 21, 1894, the foundation stone of the church was laid by Vicar General Jean Bernard Krier and construction of the church in neo-Gothic style began according to plans by Henri-Alphonse Kemp . Ten years later, on June 11, 1904, it was consecrated by Bishop Jean Joseph Koppes . From 1924 to 1927 it was partially painted by the Benedictine Notker Becker .
architecture
The inside of the nave is 59.60 m long and 23.50 m wide, the outside dimensions are 63.50 and 26.80 m. The south-west facing facade is flanked by two towers with pointed high roofs.
Interior
Three windows by Joseph and Emile Probst can be seen in the choir of the church . They depict John the Baptist , St. Martin and St. Barbara .
The Way of the Cross was created by Dominique Lang.
The Stahlhuth company built an organ in 1912, which was restored and expanded in 2002 by the Thomas Jann company
