history

The area of today's parish was dominated by agriculture until the Second World War, the only exception being the barracks at Tabor. A barracks camp was built during the war and numerous residential buildings in the post-war period. At first there was no church of its own. Services were celebrated from 1953 to 1962 in Block XXII (22) of the former barracks, from September 1962 to the end of March 1967 in a barrack church on the barracks premises and until 1974 in a house. The Steyr architect Helmut Reitter prepared a design for the Tabor pastoral care facility in 1970. Construction began in 1972, with the parsonage and parsonage being built first. From 1974 the services took place in the large parish hall. Auxiliary Bishop Alois Wagner laid the foundation stone for the church in the same year and on November 9, 1975 it was consecrated by Bishop Franz Zauner . It has been a parish church since January 1st, 1978, previously it belonged to the parish of St. Michael . The burial place is the Taborfriedhof .
