The parish church Ulmerfeld stands on Kirchenplatz in Ulmerfeld in the municipality of Amstetten in the district of Amstetten in Lower Austria . The patronage of St. The Roman Catholic parish church subordinate to Peter and Paul belongs to the Amstetten deanery of the diocese of St. Pölten . The church is a listed building ( list entry ).

history

Before the year 1000 there was a separate church from the diocese of Freising . After that the church was a vicariate of the parish church Amstetten-St. Stephan and in 1716 a vicariate of the parish church Neuhofen an der Ybbs . In 1939 the church was elevated to a parish church.

The Gothic church building was expanded into a basilica from 1951 to 1953 according to the plans of the architect Franz Barnath.

architecture

The basilical nave was extended to the north, the new choir breaks through the old Gothic structure to the south, remains of the Gothic church are preserved transversely, to the east the former choir as a side chapel, to the west the former nave as a sacristy. The tower, Gothic in the lower area, is set in the west of the nave.

Furnishing

The high altar was based on a design by Adolf Treberer-Treberspurg , the tabernacle altar bears monumental statues Peter and Paul, and a crucifix hangs above the altar.

The organ was built by the Mauracher brothers in 1955. A bell mentions 1441.

Funerary monuments

  • In the former choir: Johannes Joachim de Randegg 1643 with inscription and heraldic cartouche, Georg Christoph Baron von Puech in Walkersaich and his wife 1649 as an elaborately framed inscription wall tomb with 20 coats of arms, Hanns Yllsung zu Arbing as the lordly caretaker with a relief of a full figure in armor 1567, double coat of arms Adam Hoffman 1653, Maria Juliana von Randegg 1719, and further epitaphs 1717, 1764, 1773, 1775 and 1819.
