Parish church Unterlaussa
The Unterlaussa parish church is located in Unterlaussa in the market town of Weyer in the Steyr-Land district in Upper Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church , consecrated to Our Lady on Mount Carmel , belongs to the Admont deanery in the Graz-Seckau diocese . It is the only church in Upper Austria that belongs to the Graz-Seckau diocese. The church is a listed building ( list entry ).
history
Already in 1790 there are indications of the existence of a small church in Unterlaussa. In 1872 a chapel was consecrated, which stood about 50 meters upstream from today's church. The current church was built in the neo-Gothic style between 1906 and 1908. Originally a branch of St. Gallen, Unterlaussa was raised to an independent parish in 1966. She is looked after by the Admont Abbey .
Description, equipment and furnishings
The small church is a neo-Gothic hall church . The interior is originally from 1915, but was fundamentally redesigned in the 1970s. In 2002 the outside of the church was renovated and redesigned. In 2006 a fundamental interior renovation followed, during which the neo-Gothic high altar from the Heiligenkreuz Abbey, created in 1862 by Josef Angeler and Josef Richter , was installed. The cemetery was laid out in 1947 and the rectory was built in 1965.
The paintings inside the church are by Friedrich Walzer . The church windows were made in the Tyrolean glass painting and mosaic institute in Innsbruck.
The ringing consists of four bells.
