Nursing base

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A care support point (PSP) is a local information and advice center on all aspects of care and is primarily aimed at people in need of care or their relatives.

Care support points are set up by the health and care insurance funds on the initiative of a federal state. The basis for the establishment of the care support points in Germany is § 92c of the Social Code Book XI, which came into force on July 1, 2008, within the framework of the Care Development Act.

In the care support points, the care advice introduced by the Care Development Act is to take place as part of case management .

In 2017, the following tasks of the care support points are defined:

  • Comprehensive and independent information and advice on the rights and obligations under the Social Security Code and on the selection and use of the social benefits and other offers of assistance provided by federal or state law,
  • Coordination of all health-promoting, preventive, curative, rehabilitative and other medical as well as nursing and social assistance and support offers, including assistance with the use of the services, that are considered for local care and care,
  • Networking of coordinated nursing and social care and support offers.

For this purpose, the base forms the common roof for the staff of the long-term care and health insurances , the elderly care or the social welfare organizations . Here you can explain and convey your social benefits to those affected.

PSP networks of the federal states

In Germany, many care support points are organized at the state level. The PSP networks serve to avoid duplicate structures and to strengthen municipal advice and support services. A joint organization under one roof also makes it easier for those affected and their relatives to find the base in their area, as well as to contact them and make appointments.
