As paw are hands or feet in animals, particularly in the split toe ends of the limbs in terrestrial mammals called. The term is also used disparagingly for the human hand or the human foot (“having something in your paws”, “knocking on your paws”). In the case of predators, names such as paw , paw or paw are also common.

The phrase " stand on your hind paws " means intensifying your efforts to get something done.
