organization
The Pharmaceutical Salary Fund is a public corporation and has its seat in Vienna. It forms an administrative partnership with the Austrian Chamber of Pharmacists . All of its committees are made up of representatives from employed and self-employed pharmacists.
tasks
The pharmaceutical salary fund has the following statutory tasks:
- Assessment and payment of the salaries of salaried pharmacists and aspirants : The salary of Austrian pharmacists works through a contribution system. The pharmacy company pays a uniform amount as a contribution to the salary fund for each of its employed pharmacists. The employed pharmacists are paid by the salary fund according to an 18-step salary scheme. An advance to the next salary level is planned every 2 calendar years. This system enables every employed pharmacist to cost the employer approximately the same amount, thus avoiding age discrimination on the labor market.
- Prescription settlement : The Pharmaceutical Salary Fund carries out the prescription settlement with the social security agencies for the pharmacies. As a result of this activity as a clearing house , each individual pharmacy does not have to settle accounts with a large number of payers.
- Social and economic protection for pharmacists : The pharmaceutical salary fund also has a welfare and support fund on a legal basis, which is fed by membership fees. This fund finances, for example, family allowances, subsidies for statutory pensions, grants for pharmacy students, subsidies for unemployment and sickness benefits and support for small pharmacies in rural areas.
