Phil Beattie
Phil Beattie (actually Philip Garth Beattie ; born September 8, 1963 in Belfast ) is a former British hurdler who specialized in the 400 meter distance .
At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, he was eliminated in advance.
In 1986 he won for Northern Ireland starting at the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh with his personal best of 49.60 s and reached the semi- finals at the European Athletics Championships in Stuttgart .
From 1981 to 1987 he was Northern Irish Champion seven times in a row. 1983 and 1985 he was British champion, 1982 Irish champion.
