The Philadelphia School ( PhS ) is a Christian home school organization founded in 1980 , which arose from the dissatisfaction of the founding Stücher family with the contents of the curricula at the time . Today (as of February 2017) home school start-ups in Germany and abroad are supported, for example for missionary families.
The aim is to support families who want to raise their children to believe in Jesus Christ . Often these are home schools where one or more families teach their children together at home. However, some free Christian schools have also emerged from the work .
degrees
The children are prepared for the German school leaving certificates at secondary schools and secondary schools . Material for the Abitur is in preparation. The qualification is obtained through a partner school or as a non-student examination at another school.
literature
In October 2016, the book Everything for the Well-Being of Children: The Dramatic History of the First German House School by Rolf-Heiko Buyny, a long-time teacher and companion of the PhS, was published.
criticism
Helmut Stücher, who is considered to be the home schooling representative in Germany in the USA , is not without controversy in politics with his school. According to information on their own website, the children can work through the learning material provided and contact trained teachers.
