Philadelphus (Byzantium)
Philadelphus ( ancient Greek Φιλάδελφος Philadelphos ; † around 217) was bishop of Byzantium in the years 211-217 (according to other information until 214).
His term of office began in the year of death of the emperor Septimius Severus , which also brought an end to the direct persecution of Christians in Byzantium; Caracalla became the new emperor . Philadelphus' successor as bishop was Cyriacus I.
